What is Axie Infinity - Play N Earn Pokemon & Tamagotchi inspired Blockchain Game

This is totally crazy and I would like to share overall info about Axie Infinity 👀 and my thoughts 🤩

What is it?

Axie Infinity is a Pokémon-inspired universe where anyone can earn tokens through skilled gameplay and contributions to the ecosystem. Players can battle, collect, raise, and build a land-based kingdom for their pets. (READ MORE on White paper)

How to Play Axie Infinity

Players can earn by:

• Competing in PVP (peer vs peer) battles to win leaderboard prizes.
• Breeding Axies and selling them on the marketplace.
• Collecting and speculating on rare Axies such as Mystics and Origins.
• Farming for the love potions that are needed to breed Axies. These can be sold on exchanges such as Uniswap and Binance.
• Starting in 2021 players can earn a governance token, AXS, which represents a real slice of the game universe as it has governance rights and fee sharing built into it. Since players can earn this token by playing, a Ready Player one type quest emerges where players can actually earn part of the universe. However, these quests are not winner takes all and rewards each player based on their effort and skill.

Because of its various skill set like Pokemon has, it has 9 different classes to choose from.

• Aquatic Class
• Beast
• Bird
• Bug
• Dawn
• Dusk
• Mech
• Plant
• Reptile

And they do have some advantages over the other, like Pokemon🙀

The class of an Axie is important for combat, because each class is weak and strong against other classes. The Axie that has the class advantage will deal 15% additional damage. The Axie that has the class disadvantage will deal 15% less damage. For example, a Bird class Axie deals 15% additional damage to a Beast class Axie.

In addition, when an Axie of a certain class uses a card from its own class, it gets a 10% attack and shield bonus. For example, a Plant Axie playing a plant card will receive 10% extra attack/shield.

Important to note is that these bonuses stack. A Beast Axie using a Beast card against a Plant target will do 25% (10% + 15%) more damage. LEARN MORE (source)

Besides these exciting Pokemon like classes, there are other attribute that you want to keep in mind. There are 4 types of its unique attributes.

• Health: The amount of damage your Axie can take before being defeated.
• Morale: Morale increases critical strike chance. It also makes entering last stand more likely and adds more last stand “ticks”.
• Skill: Skill adds damage when an Axie plays multiple cards at once (combo). The extra damage is calculated like this: (card attack * skill )/ 500.
• Speed: Speed determines turn order. Faster Axies attack first. Speed also decreases an Axie’s chance of being the victim of a critical strike. If two Axies have the same speed, this is how attack order is determined: High speed > Low HP > High Skill > High Morale > Low Fighter ID.

Breeding

This part is somewhat Tamagotchi inspired and keeps us interesting while playing the game.
Like real-world pets, Axies can be bred to create new offspring. To avoid hyperinflation of Axies there is a maximum amount of times an Axie can be bred before it is sterile.
Breeding an Axie costs 4 AXS and some Smooth Love Potions depending on how many times the Axies have been bred.

Smooth Love potions can be earned by playing the game in PvE Adventure mode as well as the PvP Arena. Once you earn them, you can sync them to your wallet from this page.

Land

Oh my god😱 There is even a land where Axies live and you can own some virtual lands and even discover AXS tokens which is around $45 per token at the time of writing. Of course you could sell these AXS or swap with other tokens/coins such as ETH or BNB etc.

Conclusion

I personally think it's going to be another phenomenon like Pokemon on Blockchain the brand new technology which is mostly owned by community -Decentralized platform and we all love the fact no one has super power over us.

There are so many projects that are happening at the rapid pace and not only game industry but pretty much all industries are about to be improved by this and I am so excited to see the near future🤩
